Dedicated to Professor V. 1. STARTSEV on the occasion of his 70th birthdayThe influence of electron drag processes on the plasticity of normal state metals is demonstrated in the case of zinc crystals. These results show that dislocations move as underdamped oscillators a t low temperature and that dislocations flutters as they move. This flutter motion, in contrast t o kink motion which is expected t o have no long range stress, is the dominant drag process a t temperatures below = 4.2 K.Der Einflulj von Elektronenreibungsprozessen auf die Plastizitiit normaler Metalle wird fur den Fall von Zink-Kristallen vorgefuhrt.
