A Mathematical Model of the Thermo-Anemometric Flowmeter

Abstract: A thermo-anemometric flowmeter design and the principles of its work are presented in the article. A mathematical model of the temperature field in a stream of biofuel is proposed. This model allows one to determine the fuel consumption with high accuracy. Numerical modeling of the heater heat balance in the fuel flow of a thermo-anemometric flowmeter is conducted and the results are analyzed. Methods for increasing the measurement speed and accuracy of a thermo-anemometric flowmeter are proposed.

“…The step was not ideal, therefore it has been registered by means of hot wire anemometer [19] and later approximated by a function in form of:Q(t)=QSS(1e90t) where Q SS is the flow rate in steady state. This form of excitation signal was used during the solution of the Equation (21).…”

“…Considering the properties of individual thermo-anemometer configurations, a CTA was selected for use in the described device. Detailed mathematical models of thermoanemometric flowmeters can be found in the work of Korobiichuk et al [ 47 ]. One of the properties of this solution is, as mentioned earlier, the protection against overheating/burning of the sensor wire in the absence of airflow.…”

“…The modem means of the angular velocity measurement are also offered by automobile manufacturers, especially for ABS system [15]. Figure 1 shows the example o f such tachometer, where 1 -is the permanent magnet, 2 -is the trunk; 3 -is the winding; 4 -is the iron circuit; 5 -is the pulse drive.…”
