A maternal-effect selfish genetic element in Caenorhabditis elegans

Abstract: Selfish genetic elements spread in natural populations and have an important role in genome evolution. We discovered a selfish element causing embryonic lethality in crosses between wild strains of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans.
