Dubbed as the next-generation Internet, the metaverse is a virtual world that allows users to interact with each other or objects in real-time using their avatars. The metaverse is envisioned to support novel ecosystems of service provision in an immersive environment brought about by an intersection of the virtual and physical worlds. The native AI systems in metaverse will personalized user experience over time and shape the experience in a scalable, seamless, and synchronous way. However, the metaverse is characterized by diverse resource types amid a highly dynamic demand environment. In this paper, we propose the case study of virtual education in the metaverse and address the unified resource allocation problem amid stochastic user demand. We propose a stochastic optimal resource allocation scheme (SORAS) based on stochastic integer programming with the objective of minimizing the cost of the virtual service provider. The simulation results show that SORAS can minimize the cost of the virtual service provider while accounting for the users' demands uncertainty.

In the study, it is aimed to investigate the academic procrastination behaviors of teacher candidates in the management of personal learning environments within intelligent tutoring systems. In the study, which was structured in the phenomenological pattern, included in the qualitative research method, the participants were formed from 52 teacher candidates studying at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Education with the 'criteria sampling' method. In line with the findings; teacher candidates are in the opinion that intelligent tutoring systems will have a significant role in the education systems of the future and that the characteristics of learners have altered in digital transformation. When the reasons of academic procrastination behaviors are examined, there are reasons such as low motivation, the design of the course, the digital competencies of the learner and the teacher, while as the solution strategies are examined, the motivation of the learners and teachers, increasing the level of interaction between the learners with intelligent tutoring systems, communication, time management, providing digital competencies. Furthermore, strategies such as providing technical competencies have been suggested by teacher candidates.

Bildung in der digitalen TransformationKaum ein Phänomen hat in so kurzer Zeit die Digitalisierung des Bildungswesens stärker vorangetrieben als die Corona-Pandemie und der weitreichende Übergang von Präsenz-zu Distanzlehre, der mit ihr verbunden war. Wie in einem natürlichen Experiment offenbarten sich dabei Vorzüge und Chancen dieser Entwicklung ebenso wie Defizite und strukturelle Schwächen unseres Bildungswesens. Wurde schon vor der Pandemie die schleppende Etablierung digitaler Bildungstechnologien vielerorten beklagt, zwingen die Erfahrungen aus eineinhalb Corona-Jahren spätestens jetzt und jenseits der üblichen Apologetik zu einer kritischen Bilanz. Während den Hochschulen der Wechsel in die digitale Distanzlehre mit vergleichsweise geringen Reibungsverlusten gelang (Marczuk et al., 2021; Karapanos et al., 2021), offenbarten sich diese an Schulen weitaus deutlicher (Helm et al., 2021; Zierer, 2021). Trotz aller Widrigkeiten erscheint eines allerdings klar: Es wird etwas hängenbleiben aus dieser Zeit. Eine völlige Rückkehr zum Status quo ante ist kaum noch vorstellbar.Zwei Fragen bestimmen vor diesem Hintergrund die Doppelgesichtigkeit des diesjährigen Tagungsthemas "Bildung in der digitalen Transformation". Erstens: Wie ‚funktioniert' und welche Herausforderungen gibt es für Bildung in der sich derzeit ereignenden digitalen Transformation? Und zweitens: Befindet sich möglicherweise Bildung selbst in der Transformation, weil wir an der Schwelle einer "Kultur der Digitalität" (Stalder, 2016) stehen, und an welchen Merkmalen und Herausforderungen lässt sich das festmachen?Warum ist das Tagungsthema für die Medien in der Wissenschaft von besonderer Bedeutung? Wissens-und Kompetenzerwerb sind mediengebundene und -gestützte individuelle Prozesse, die im Horizont von Bildung sowohl auf die Erzeugung verlässlichen Wissens als auch auf die Integration dieses Wissens in individuelle Entscheidungs-und Handlungsstrukturen abzielen. Bildung, verstanden als individuelle Leistung, lässt sich von außen weder herstellen noch bewirken, aber man kann sie sehr wohl unterstützen. Damit rücken Fragen nach Individualisierung und Personalisierung in den Mittelpunkt. Mit welchen Konzepten kann es in der Breite gelingen, der zunehmenden Diversität der Lernenden gerecht zu werden und möglichst vielen eine erfolgreiche Teilhabe in der digitalen Bildungswelt zu gewähren? Wie ist es um nachhaltigen Lernerfolg in der digitalen Bildungswelt bestellt, wie um studentische oder schulische Leistung im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Settings? Welche Unterstützungssysteme sind wirksam und welche davon sind skalierbar? Und was macht eigentlich einen gebildeten Menschen in einer zunehmend digitalisierten Welt aus (Meyer, 2021)? Diese Fragen stehen auch im Fokus des BMBF-geförderten Forschungsverbunds tech4comp, dessen Fachtagung in Kooperation mit der diesjährigen GMW stattfindet und der mit sechs Einreichungen ein eigenes Kapitel im vorliegenden Band bildet.
