AI-enabled blockchain refers to the use of AI to enable the analysis and decision-making processes based on data collected, shared, and stored by blockchain. This helps overcome some of the existing challenges in blockchain applications. Despite the growing number of review papers on blockchain and AI, there is a dearth of literature on AI-enabled blockchain in business scenarios. This study uses bibliometric-content analysis to (1) identify three stages of development of AI-enabled blockchain literature and point out the increasing diversity of technological applications; (2) identify the strongest foci of extant literature; (3) unveil the roles of AI-enabled blockchain in 10 application sectors, and identify the key roles of AI in enabling blockchain applications; (4) conclude the referred ethical issues from three levels and make further discussion. The findings present the trends of AI-enabled blockchain and could help developers and service providers better manage the use and ethical issues of AI in blockchain applications.

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed several limitations of existing healthcare systems. Thus, there is a surge in healthcare innovation and new business models using computer-mediated virtual environments to provide an alternative healthcare system. Today, digital transformation is not limited to virtual communication alone but encompasses digitalizing the network of social connections in the healthcare industry using metaverse technology. The metaverse is a universal and immersive virtual world facilitated by virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). This paper presents the first effort to offer a comprehensive survey that examines the latest metaverse developments in the healthcare industry, which covers seven domains: telemedicine, clinical care, education, mental health, physical fitness, veterinary, and pharmaceuticals. We review metaverse applications and deeply discuss technical issues and available solutions in each domain that can help develop a self-sustaining, persistent, and future-proof solution for medical healthcare systems. Finally, we highlight the challenges that must be tackled before fully embracing the metaverse for the healthcare industry.

PurposeCoronavirus disease (COVID-19) was declared as a pandemic since COVID-19's widespread outbreak and the hospitality industry has been the hardest hit due to lockdown. Consequently, hospitality workers are suffering from the negative aspects of mental health. In the event of such a crisis, this study aims to explore the link between unemployment and home isolation to the willingness to choose electronic consultation (e-consultation) by exploiting psychological ill-being and behavioural intention (BI) with marital status as a moderator.Design/methodology/approachA quantitative methodology is applied to primary data collected from 310 workers from the hospitality industry through an online survey.FindingsFindings of this study suggest that the usage of the e-consultation service can be adopted using three levels. There are valid reasons to conclude unemployment and home isolation are linked to higher rates of psychological health behaviours, which can result in stigma, loss of self-worth and increased mortality. The adverse effect is higher for single individuals than for married people.Originality/valueThe study focussed on e-consultation, BI coupled with the Fishbein scale and a classification model for the prediction of willingness to choose e-consultation with the extension of Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB).
