Abstract: Abstract-Selectorless crossbar arrays of resistive randomaccess memory (RRAM), also known as memristors, conduct large sneak currents during operation, which can significantly corrupt the accuracy of cross-point analog resistance (M t ) measurements. In order to mitigate this issue, we have designed, built, and tested a memristor characterization and testing (mCAT) instrument that forces redistribution of sneak currents within the crossbar array, dramatically increasing M t measurement accuracy. We calibrated … Show more

“…All characterisation of the devices has been done with our characterisation platform ArC ONE 28 , although the methodology itself is instrumentation independent. Read pulses are set to up to 50 ms in duration (depending on actual resistive state) and 0.2 V in amplitude.…”

“…In the former case, during depression spike amplitude ranges from 0.1 to 1.2 V, during potentiation, from −0.1 to −0.65 V. The same spike is repeated 5 times before the amplitude is incremented by 50 mV (decremented by −50 mV for negative voltages) and the pulse duration is fixed at 100 μs. Measurements are performed using the custom instrument described in Berdan et al (2015). In the second experiment, the trains of identical pulses are constituted by 300 repetitions of −550 mV—high and 25 μs—long pulses for potentiation and 300 repetitions of 700 mV—high and 20 μs—long pulses for depression.…”

“…The current versus voltage (I-V) characteristics were obtained on 30 × 30 µm 2 devices using our inhouse mem ristor characterization platform ArC ONE ™ [43]. The voltage sweeping was carried out in staircase mode towards posi tive biases, while both positive and negative polarities were always applied to the TE with respect to the BE that was con tinuously kept grounded.…”
