A loop ileostomy Design to Maintain Height and Verticality

Abstract: Results: Reasons for ileostomy were as follows: covering ileostomy, n=18; small bowel obstruction due to malignant tumor, n=6; and diverting stoma, n=2. Mean height of the oral-side outlet ( n=18 ) was 19.3 mm ( range, 5-32 mm ) , and verticality was generally maintained, but 7 cases showed a slight lean ( lateral, n=6; caudal, n=1 ) .
