A long‐term follow‐up study of non‐submerged ITI implants in the treatment of totally edentulous jaws

Abstract: In this prospective multicenter study, non-submerged ITI implants were followed in order to evaluate their long-term prognosis in fully edentulous jaws. A total of 1286 implants were inserted in 233 consecutive patients and, after a healing period of three to six months, the successfully integrated implants were restored with 163 overdentures and 95 fixed full-arch bridges. This prospective study not only calculated the 10-year cumulative survival and success rates for the 1286 implants by life table analysis,… Show more

“…Dual effects and mechanism of TiO 2 nanotube arrays 1 minute, in a mixture of HNO 3 and HF, to remove the TiO 2 nanotube arrays formed in the first anodization step and were then washed with distilled water. Subsequently, these samples were immediately anodized again under the same conditions for the desired length of time: the group of samples anodized at 10 V during the first anodization step was anodized at 10 V for 45 minutes, whereas the applied voltage for the group of samples anodized at 20 V during the first step was fixed at 20 V for 45 minutes as the second anodization step.…”

“…While the zygomatic trabecular bone quality was previously suggested to be poor compared with the maxilla (Nkenke et al, 2003), the present intra-individual analysis proved a comparable trabecular bone quality of the zygomatic bone with the anterior maxilla. Further, both were significantly superior to the posterior maxilla, which might contribute to the inferior outcomes of implant survival rate reported for the posterior maxilla (Ferrigno et al, 2002;Weng et al, 2003). Altogether, the description of an equivalent trabecular bone quality of the zygomatic bone to that of the anterior maxilla presents valuable information for further research on zygomatic implants.…”
