A Lithium-6 CP/MAS Standard

Abstract: The 6Li cross polarization magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) spectra of several commercially available lithium‐containing solids were obtained. Lithium acetate hydrate is evidently the sample of choice for setting up the 6Li{1H} CP/MAS experiment. A 6Li spectrum of the sample without spinning yields a Pake doublet that can be best simulated with a 6Li quadrupolar coupling constant, χ(6Li), of 2.5±0.2 kHz and an asymmetry parameter, η, of less than 0.2. A noticeable asymmetry in the intensities of the two halves of… Show more

“…Lithium acetate (hereafter referred to as LiC 2 ) is a very common salt of great importance due to its many and varied uses, such as (a) product for drug formulation and therapy, (b) buffer for gel electrophoresis of DNA and RNA, (c) additive or catalyst for textiles and polymer production, , (d) precursor material for batteries and ferromagnetic nanoparticles, (e) product for efficient yeast transformation, lithium-6 CP/MAS standard, solvent, catalyst, etc. In this study, we describe LiC 2 and some of its hydrates forming different three-dimensional (3D) microporous frameworks.…”

“…The spectra for TAB1 are shown in Figure 2, all data are provided in the Supplementary Materials (Figures S13–S20). Lithium acetate dihydrate was used a reference (δ = 5.80 ppm) for 6 Li MAS NMR experiments [18]. 6 Li MAS NMR chemical shifts for TAB1 , TAB2 , and TAB4 were observed in a rather narrow range of 5.9 to 6.2 ppm (half-widths of ca.…”
