A liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry method to simultaneously determinate chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid and imidacloprid metabolites in wheat

Abstract: A liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated to simultaneously determine chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid, and imidacloprid metabolites in soil, wheat grain, and wheat straw matrices. Satisfactory linearity (R2 ≥ 0.9965) of the method was obtained for all analytes. The ranges of limits of detection and limits of quantification for seven analytes in three matrices were 0.17–66.7 and 0.5–200 μg/kg, respectively. Average recoveries were 72.85–81.25% for chlorpyrifos, 78.54–84… Show more

“…The selection of a chromatographic column is especially important for the detection of compounds. Improper selection will cause a certain deviation in the peak area, peak shape and retention time of the analyte (Huang et al, ). In this study, three different chromatographic columns, including the JADE‐PAK ODS‐AQ column (150 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size, Techway Technologies, Guangzhou, China), the Phenomenex Luna C 18 column (150 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size, Phenomenex Inc., Torrance, CA, USA) and the Agilent Zorbax Eclipse XDB‐C 18 column (150 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size, Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, CA, USA), were evaluated.…”

“…The optimized extraction solvent was acetonitrile containing 0.3% formic acid, and the optimized sorbent was C 18 for the three analytes. The other parameters could be set at any value within their investigated ranges (Huang et al, ).…”

“…LC is the most commonly applied technique for the determination of NNIs in different matrices such as waters, soils, vegetables, honey, fruit juices, and wines using UV [11][12][13][14][15] or MS detection [16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Also, some CE methods have been published for their control in greenhouse air, waters, soils, cucumber, or beeswax using mainly MEKC-UV [23][24][25][26][27] or CZE-MS [28].…”
