A linearity-preserving vertex interpolation algorithm for cell-centered finite volume approximations of anisotropic diffusion problems

Abstract: Purpose A finite volume scheme for diffusion equations on non-rectangular meshes is proposed in [Deyuan Li, Hongshou Shui, Minjun Tang, J. Numer. Meth. Comput. Appl., 1(4)(1980)217–224 (in Chinese)], which is the so-called nine point scheme on structured quadrilateral meshes. The scheme has both cell-centered unknowns and vertex unknowns which are usually expressed as a linear weighted interpolation of the cell-centered unknowns. The critical factor to obtain the optimal accuracy for the scheme is the reconstr… Show more

“…Computer simulations are performed with a CFD solver based on the finite volume method using a cell-centred formulation (Hirsch, 1992;Yang and Gao, 2019). The flow distribution in space obtained by solving equations ( 1), ( 2) and ( 4) are coupled with the concentration distribution of ozone obtained by solving equation ( 13).…”
