Aim: The study attempts to analyse the organisational principles (centralisation, decentralisation, hierarchy, integration, and professional public service) that fundamentally determine the structure and operation of public administration from the perspective of examining territorial public administration.
Methodology: During their research, the author conducted a literature review and analysis, and used the comparative method. Considering the topic, the study is basically descriptive and synthesising.
Findings: Different views on the organisational principles of public administration complement rather than exceed each other. The principles of organisation are not only theoretical theories, but the basis of the practice of public administration organisation, and at the same time they are also suitable for the general characterisation of the given public administration system.
Value: The contextual analysis of the implementation of the organisational principles described in the study is also relevant from the point of view of the investigation of territorial public administration, for which this work can provide a starting point.
