A key to the Victorian genera of free–living and retreat–making caddis–fly larvae (Insecta: Trichoptera)

Abstract: A key is provided to Victorian genera of free-living and retreat-making Trichoptcra larvae of the families Philopotamidae, Polycentropodidae, Hydrobiosidae, Ecnomidae and Hydropsychidae. Twentyeight genera are included, although some remain unidentified while the status of several others is uncertain. In addition larvae of four genera of Hydrobiosidae cannot be separated, and have been lumped in the key as the Taschorema complex.
