With the increasing demand for urban rail transit among Chinese residents, in order to solve the problem of traditional vehicle braking control models being unable to brake normally under abnormal conditions, intelligent methods are studied to adjust the parameters of the braking model under abnormal conditions and construct an intelligent braking control model. The performance verification of the improved brake control model was conducted, and the experimental results showed that under abnormal signal collection conditions, the error of the brake cylinder pressure change curve of the improved brake control model was 8kPa, and the error of the pressure relief curve was 5kPa. Its brake performance and pressure relief performance were better than traditional brake models. In summary, the improved brake control model can meet the pressure control needs of traditional models in different situations, and has practical value

Faster Convergence Controller With Distorted Grid Conditions for Photovoltaic Grid Following Inverter System

The hysteresis current controller (HCC) for grid following inverter (GFI) system with LCL-filter is a well-known controller for its robustness, fast reference tracking, better dynamics, and easier implementation compared to other controllers. However, HCC behaves differently while integrating such a system with solar photovoltaics (PV). The PV-based GFI system requires fast convergence while transferring maximum power from PV to the grid at minimum converter losses through GFI. This paper therefore proposes a modified double-band HCC (MDBHCC) with proportional resonant (PR) controller for single-phase PV integrated GFI system with LCL-filter. The proposed algorithm implements a unipolar symmetrical PWM strategy for reducing inverter switching losses through a sequential logic with an adaptive clock. It improves the variation in switching frequency and limits the maximum switching frequency of HCC while enhancing the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the injected current into the grid at the point of common coupling. To alleviate the power quality problems and achieve zero steady state error, the proposed MDBHCC with PR control operates at lesser % THD. Simulation and experimental results are presented, with a significant decrease in switching frequency and an improvement in grid current harmonics at both steady-state and dynamic conditions.INDEX TERMS GFI, hysteresis current control, LCL filter, power quality improvement, total harmonic distortion.

Nowadays, Single-DC-Source Multilevel Inverter (SDCS-MLI) topologies are being considered as more suitable for many power system applications such as Renewable Energy (RE) conversion systems and electrified transportations compared to the Multiple-DC-Source MLIs (MDCS-MLIs). Voltage balancing of the auxiliary capacitors in those configurations is a major matter of concern. Different techniques have been developed to overcome this issue that can be mainly categorized as internal controller-based and external controller-based techniques. In the former techniques, the redundant switching states help balancing the capacitors voltages. On the other hand, the latter techniques involve external regulators to balance the capacitors' voltages. This paper analyzes most of the existing techniques to control and balance the capacitors voltages in SDCS-MLIs, such as PWM, SVM, Hysteresis control, MPC, sliding mode, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based control techniques. Furthermore, a comprehensive comparison is presented to illustrate the advantages/disadvantages of each technique. Finally, some industrial challenges and future works are projected.
