The circular supply chain has recently received more attention as a relevant solution to effectively tackle environmental issues while simultaneously achieving resource recovery and circular business strategy benefits. This study builds a hierarchical circular supply chain structure from big data including qualitative and quantitative information. This study uses data-driven analysis to clarify circular supply chain trends and opportunities in practice. A valid hierarchical circular supply chain structure is composed of a big dataset. However, the attributes of the hierarchical circular supply chain structure must be explored to identify the opportunities and challenges of the circular supply chain. A combination of data-driven content and cluster analysis, including the fuzzy Delphi method, fuzzy decision-making trials, evaluation laboratories, and the entropy weight method, is utilized to address this gap. The study analyzes a set of five attributes from the literature, and 23 criteria are validated. The results show that resource recovery implementation, Industry 4.0 and digitalization, and reverse supply chain practice pertain to the causal group, while circular business strategy and life cycle sustainability assessment are included in the effect group. The conclusive criteria comprise material efficiency, waste-to-energy, machine learning, e-waste, plastic recycling, and artificial intelligence. The CSC concept offers sustainable advantages by separating value formation from resource usage, leading to lower resource consumption and higher economic value acquisition from waste flows (Bressanelli et al., 2021;Tseng, Tran, et al., 2021). The transition to a circular economy in the construction industry provides enormous opportunities to decouple construction activities, processes, and practices from finite consumption of natural resources and environmental externalities. Circular construction leverages the interconnected models of narrowing, slowing, and closing resource loops to minimize extractive and wasteful use of natural resources, eliminate waste and pollution from the outset, and retain construction products and materials in use for a longer duration. However, construction practitioners have struggled to implement circular economy principles into construction projects successfully. This study systematically reviewed the critical success factors for implementing circular construction projects. The results revealed 51 critical success factors for circular construction projects, clustered into six typologies: technological (n = 10, Σ = 93, μ = 9.30), supply chain (n = 14, Σ = 84, μ = 6.00), organizational (n = 9, Σ = 82, μ = 9.11), institutional (n = 7, Σ = 43, μ = 6.14), stakeholder success (n = 7, Σ = 73, μ = 10.43), and management success factors (n = 4, Σ = 27, μ = 6.75). A Pareto analysis revealed 30 vital critical success factors for circular construction projects. Thus, the study established the first comprehensive set of critical success strategies for circular construction projects and enriches the knowledge of construction organizations and project team members on how best to implement circular economy principles in construction projects.

Product recovery has fascinated the concentration of organizations and is prominent among industry practitioners and researchers due to improved environmental concerns, social awareness, and economic benefits. Circular supply chain (CSC) compounds the concept of product recovery in global supply chain management to present a sustainable perspective. Therefore, this study aims to determine impediments of product recovery and CSC toward sustainable production and consumption in the background of manufacturing organizations. This study determines potential impediments from literature and in consultation with experts. Further, a fuzzy VIKOR approach is practiced to prioritize the impediments of product recovery and CSC. Then, a sensitivity analysis is conducted to verify the robustness of the framework attained. The results from the study reflect that “lack of collaboration from supply chain performers”, “lack of tax policies for facilitating CSC models” and “limited expertise, technology, information on CSC practices” are the critical impediments to product recovery in CSCs. The findings of the study could assist industry managers and practitioners in developing procedures and strategies to attain sustainable development.
