A Hybrid Model Checking and Runtime Monitoring Method for C++ Web Services

Abstract: Traditional model checking methods to nd safety and liveness violations are usually applied in the abstract model, while existing runtime monitoring methods to check the predicates can not obtain the high path coverage. This paper presents a hybrid model checking and runtime monitoring method to check the safety and liveness properties in real complex distributed C/C++ web service systems, which can offer both a richer and more efcient way to search violations specied by linear temporal logic. Based on our mod… Show more

“…However, this work only focuses on how to infer other potential executions that can take place in the past. Our work tries to predict the future state of patient based on recent observations Easwaran et al [31], Qi et al [32], and Harel et al [33] also propose bringing model checking online. But they are still focusing on discrete (automata) model checking, rather than hybrid systems model checking that this paper is about.…”

“…Significant research efforts have been invested in runtime monitoring or online health-checking [1,6,15,16]. Web services monitoring is taken in parallel with the normal executing process without interrupting it.…”
