Abstract: This chapter begins with an account of the founding of Division 37 (Child, Youth, and Family Services) by Gertrude J. Williams, Milton F. Shore, and others. The division is placed into a broader context by a description of the early history of child advocacy in relation to psychology. Some of the leaders of this division are described.
