“…[6][7][8][9] According to the research of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) single crystal in photoelectrochemistry, Fujishima and Honda [10] pioneered the field of semiconductor photocatalysis. However, the wide band gap of metal oxide such as ZnO, [11][12][13][14] SnO 2 , [15][16][17][18] Nb 2 O 5 , [19][20][21] etc., makes them only respond to near-ultraviolet or ultraviolet light, resulting in low efficiency of solar energy. In fact, visible light accounts for 43% of sunlight, while ultraviolet ray accounts for merely 4%.…”

“…4d) with a lower binding energy would probe a deeper region underneath the surface. 46 According to the binding energy, Ga existed mainly in the form of ZGO oxide. The binding energy of Ga 3d in reduced ZGO was higher than in ZGO because of the migration of Ga in the [GaO 6 ] octahedron to the tetrahedron site.…”

“…4d) with a lower binding energy would probe a deeper region underneath the surface. 46 According to Fig. 3 TEM images of ZGO after reduction with 5% H 2 at 650 °C for 15 h (a-h) and 800 °C for 5 h (i-l).…”

“…The photocurrent and Mott-Schottky were obtained on an electrochemical workstation (Zennium Pro, Zahner, Germany) in a conventional three electrodes configuration with the synthesized samples as the working electrode, a gold mesh as the counter electrode, Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode, and Na 2 SO 4 (0.5 M) aqueous solution as the electrolyte, respectively. The working electrodes (2 cm 2 ) were prepared by spreading a slurry form 5 mg of samples, 25 µl of PEDOT and 50 µl of water on F-doped tin oxide glass with glass rod using adhesive tapes as spacers [28]. After drying in ambient air, the photoelectrodes were dried at 150 • C for 30 min.…”
