A hierarchical screening method for detection of illegal adulterants in Fur seal ginseng pills by profiling analysis of HPLC multi‐dimensional fingerprints

Abstract: A novel method for hierarchical screening of illegal adulterants in Fur seal ginseng pills products was developed by multi-dimensional fingerprint profiling analysis. Fingerprint feature of the samples was acquired by high-performance liquid chromatography analysis of 11 batches of samples with diode array detector and fluorescence detector, and then potential illegal adulterants including phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors, androgens, α receptor antagonists and yohimbine, were further separated at multiple w… Show more

“…However, the single index component control mode fails to evaluate its quality comprehensively. In recent years, fingerprint techniques have worked as a powerful tool for the evaluation and quality control of multicomponent traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) [11][12][13]. More than 60 kinds of alkaloids have been isolated from C. yanhusuo [14].…”

“…Several techniques have been used to detect SB and SID such as gas chromatography [12][13][14][15], high performance liquid chromatography [16][17][18], and liquid chromatography-tandem mass chromatography [19][20][21][22]. Critically, these methods need time and expert personnel to run the analyses, require cleaning procedures, and they are of low sensitivity and expensive.…”
