A hierarchical and decentralized qos and resource management architecture for embedded systems

Abstract

I wish to thank the friendship and collaboration of current and previous members of the Real-Time Systems Group at DIT/ÜPM whom I have had the pleasure of working with. I would like to emphasize the excellent working atmosphere with Marisol García Vails, Ángel Groba, and Miguel Ángel de Miguel. There are two other members of this research group that deserve a special mentioh, Juan Zamorano and Ángel Álvarez, that have always trusted in me and have given me the required support and push for doing my research. Similarly, I would like to thank Alejandro Sánchez-Rico, Erik García-Escudero, and Carlos Diez, from the Quality of Service fór the TriMedia Processor project, for their help in the implementation and testing of the wbrk presented in this dissertation. This thesis is set within a collaboration framework with the Information Processing Architectures (IPA) group from Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven.
