A heuristic method for consumable resource allocation in multi-class dynamic PERT networks

Abstract: This investigation presents a heuristic method for consumable resource allocation problem in multi-class dynamic Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) networks, where new projects from different classes (types) arrive to system according to independent Poisson processes with different arrival rates. Each activity of any project is operated at a devoted service station located in a node of the network with exponential distribution according to its class. Indeed, each project arrives to the first servic… Show more

“…Although RCPSP is a powerful model, it cannot cover all cases and conditions of real situations. Therefore, many researchers have developed more generalized scheduling problems, most of which use RCPSP as the start point (Yaghoubi et al 2013). During recent years, a new version of RCPSP has been introduced to the literature, which includes the simultaneous solving of two scheduling and human resource allocation problems.…”

“…Hashemin and Fatemi Ghomi (2012) developed a mathematical model for the resource allocation in stochastic networks using multi-objective decision making algorithm. A heuristic method for consumable resource allocation in multi-class dynamic PERT networks was considered by Yaghoubi et al (2013). presented an ANN model for multi channel infinite buffer queue under N-policy.…”
