A heterometallic sodium(i)–europium(iii)-organic layer exhibiting dual-responsive luminescent sensing for nitrofuran antibiotics, Cr2O72− and MnO4 anions

Abstract: A red-emitting layer constructed from {Eu2Na(CH3COO)2} chains and 4,4′-(pyridine-2,6-diyl)dibenzolate linkers exhibits luminescent discriminations for three nitrofuran antibiotics and toxic Cr2O72− and MnO4− anions.

“…The LOD for Fe 3+ and MnO 4 − were 2.21×10 −8 , and 4.44×10 −8 m for Tb‐MOF . Compared with the previously reported MOF‐based luminescence probes for Fe 3+ and MnO 4 − (Table ), Tb‐MOF has the minimum dosage to perform the sensing task, and the LOD and quenching constants of Tb‐MOF are still in superior positions. Meanwhile, anti‐interference ability is one of the basic conditions for highly efficient sensor materials.…”

“…Lots of Eu III ‐ and Tb III ‐based complexes with intense red and green luminescence have been designed and fabricated by introducing phenyl‐derived antenna ligands . All these reported complexes have shown sensitively and selectively luminescent responses towards various contaminants, which can be easily visualized by the naked eye upon irradiation by the hand‐probable UV light , . However, the energy level compatibility between the functionalized ligands and fluorescent Ln III ions are still unclear and urgently required.…”

“…1 Recently, on site and real time detection of antibiotic residues in the environment has become an urgent need due to their toxicity and broad range of applications. 2 Despite their superb value, abuse and overuse of antibiotics have le their residues in food, soil, and river and drinking water. 3 Long-term intake of antibiotic contaminated foods and water can eventually cause serious damage to human beings through food chains.…”
