A hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets-based AHP approach for analyzing the performance evaluation factors: an application to cargo sector

Abstract: One of the important points in performance measurement and evaluation is determining the relative importance of the metrics used. The aim of this study is to present a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach for evaluating the factors used for performance evaluation. Hesitant fuzzy sets-based analytic hierarchy process method, which is an effective and successful approach to deal with uncertainty, is proposed for analyzing the factors affecting the performance of the branches of a cargo company in Turkey… Show more

“…For instance, Camci et al have used HFAHP to choose the most suitable CNC router for SMEs in the woodwork industry. Tüysüz and Şimşek have used HFAHP to evaluate the performance of the branches of cargo firms. The author's model has considered following factors: operational factors, human resources–related factors, financial factors, customer relations–related factors, sales‐ and marketing‐related factors, safety‐ and security‐related factors, and cooperation with other units–related factors .…”

“…Various researches were conducted to incorporate uncertainty into AHP such as fuzzy AHP (FAHP; Chang, 1996;Wang, Luo, & Hua, 2008), Z-AHP (Azadeh, Saberi, Atashbar, Chang, & Pazhoheshfar, 2013), interval type-2 fuzzy AHP (IT2 FAHP; Kahraman, Öztayşi, Sarı, & Turanoğlu, 2014), AHP with intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFAHP) (Sadiq & Tesfamariam, 2009), AHP with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFAHP; Wu, Huang, & Cao, 2013), AHP with hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (Tüysüz & Şimşek, 2017), and rough-AHP (Aydogan, 2011) can be mentioned. In general, these studies consider either the degree of confidence of pairwise comparison value (IFAHP and IVIFAHP) or determine an interval of comparisons such as rough-AHP, IT2 FAHP and Z-AHP.…”

“…In addition, to reduce the biasness of the DMs in the decision-making process, the AHP incorporates a useful technique for checking the consistency of the DM's evaluations. Recently, extensive studies have been conducted on AHP in fuzzy context, such as, AHP based on 2-tuple linguistic representation model for supplier segmentation by aggregating quantitative and qualitative criteria [11], a hybrid approach based on 2-tuple fuzzy linguistic method and fuzzy AHP for evaluation in-flight service quality [12], 2 Advances in Fuzzy Systems and AHP method based on hesitant fuzzy sets for analyzing the factors affecting the performance of different branches of a cargo company [13]. To collect priorities of the DMs in AHP, different kinds of preference relations are used in the literature, but numerical preference relations [14][15][16] and linguistic preference relations (LPRs) [17,18] are the two basic preference relations that are often used in MCDM problems.…”
