Compared with their non-migrant peers, migrant children in China face major risks and challenges that may cause them to develop behavioral and psychological problems. Nevertheless, research has seldom addressed their victimization by bullies and its association with their mental health outcomes, much less the roles of intrapersonal and interpersonal sources of resilience in that relationship. In response, this study was designed to examine how bullying victimization both directly and indirectly influences migrant children’s mental health through intrapersonal and interpersonal sources of resilience. Data were collected from a school-based multistage random sample of 1,132 migrant children in Grades 4–9 (mean age = 11.88 years, range = 8–17 years; boys = 55.6%) attending public schools in Nanjing and private schools in Guangzhou, China. Structural equation modeling performed with Amos 25.0 revealed that both intrapersonal and interpersonal sources of resilience mediated the effect of bullying victimization on migrant children’s mental health, albeit intrapersonal sources demonstrated a slightly stronger mediation effect. The results thus suggest that social workers and educators should provide effective prevention and intervention strategies that promote intrapersonal and interpersonal sources of resilience among migrant children in China.

Background: Adolescence represents an important transitional period and is associated with considerable changes in psychosocial functioning, in attachment relationships. Secure parent attachment relates to adolescents' psychological wellbeing. Aim: The current study aimed to assess the effect of parent-adolescent attachment on their psychological wellbeing. Research design: A descriptive exploratory research design was utilized in this study. Setting: the study was conducted in 11secondary schools in El Gharbia Governorate. Subject: A purposive sample was used, including 364 students. Tools of data collection: 1) demographic questionnaire to assess the demographic data of adolescents in secondary school 2): an inventory of parent attachment (IPA), to assess adolescents' parent attachments 3) Ryff's Scale to assess an adolescent's psychological wellbeing. Results: more than half of the studied adolescents were highly attached to their mothers, and nearly half of them were highly attached to their fathers. Also, more than two-fifths of them have good psychological well-being, and there was a highly significant relationship between parental adolescents' attachment and their psychological wellbeing. In Conclusion, the studied adolescents were more attached to their mothers than to their fathers, and secure attachment relates to their psychological well-being. The highly attached adolescents to their parents had good psychological well-being and vice versa. The study recommended the utilization of the study results in designing and implementing an awareness program for parents of adolescents to increase their awareness about the importance of attachment to the psychological wellbeing of adolescents.

Objective Suicide is a global public health concern. It is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 29 years old. Suicide ideation often emerges in adolescence and is prevalent among this age group. With the help of leaders, teachers as mentors can play an effective role in the prevention of suicide among children and young adults. The present study was performed to assess the effectiveness of school-based teaching programs on knowledge regarding the recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior among school teachers. Materials and Methods A quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental (one group pre-test and post-test) research design was adopted. The study was conducted at Government schools of East Sikkim among 80 secondary school teachers. The samples were assigned through the purposive sampling technique. A pre-designed knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge of schoolteachers. A pre-test was conducted during the first week of data collection, which was followed by a school-based teaching program regarding recognition and management of adolescents' suicidal behavior on the second week. A post-test was conducted during the fourth week using the same pre-designed knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis was done using the SPSS version 25 applying descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results The study findings revealed that in pre-test knowledge score, 5% had good knowledge, whereas in post-test, score 50% had good knowledge regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior. The mean score during the pre-test was 12.78 ± 2.87 and the mean score during the post-test was 16.44 ± 2.50. The computed paired “t” value (11.9) was higher than the tabled value (t79 = 1.99; p < 0.05). An association was found between pre-test knowledge score regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior with gender, religion, and years of working experience at p < 0.05 level. Conclusion The study concluded that school-based teaching programs helped secondary school teachers to improve their knowledge regarding adolescents' suicidal behavior. The gain in knowledge from the school-based teaching program will help them recognize and manage adolescents with suicidal behavior and initiate appropriate referrals in the future.
