Later (7,8), the NRL NAREC digital computer was used to recalculate the absorption and noise temperature-more exactly and to extend the frequency range to 100 GHz. However in that work (as in the earlier work) the "centroid approximation" of Van Vleck (9) was used to calculate the oxygen absorption; hence the results were not accurate in and near the 60-GHz oxygen resonances, that is, in the region from about 50 to 70 GHz.…”
