A Group Decision-Making Model for Wastewater Treatment Plans Selection Based on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets

Abstract: As the need for environmental protection and resource sustainability has increased in recent times, wastewater treatment has become increasingly important. In this paper, a group decision-making model for plans selection in wastewater treatment is proposed. In order to deal with uncertainties and multiple attributes in wastewater treatment, an intuitionistic fuzzy set is employed to evaluate wastewater treatment plans effectively. A distance measure is defined to obtain an objective weight measuring the expert… Show more

“…(2019), and Zhou et al. (2018). The lack of transparency in the Iranian Government's policies regarding supporting investors (Groh and Wich, 2012), the high exchange rate of the dollar to the Iranian currency (Kia, 2008), the unprecedented decline in the oil price (Farzanegan and Markwardt, 2009) and the high inflation rate in Iran are considered to be the main factors explaining the high importance of the economic criteria in Iran.…”

“…For example, Shakeri (2016) analyzed the risk assessment multi criteria decision making model by use of VIKOR method. Zhou et al (2018) introduced intutionistic fuzzy set in group decision making for selecting the best alternative for waste water reuse. Reclaimed water, considered as a source of water management system is one of the most important considerations.…”

“…HFS permits to review the value of membership degree by a set of possible values between 0 and 1. Zhou et al (2018) [79] explained wastewater treatment plans in group decision making model. They introduced improved fuzzy set theory i.e., intuitionistic fuzzy set theory in MCDM model.…”

“…Uncertainty is an inevitable aspect of assessments and judgements made by an expert. This uncertainty usually leads to imprecise and ambiguous information (Zhou, Dou, Zhang, Zhao, & Tan, 2018). The theory of fuzzy sets was first expounded by Zadeh (1965) for modeling the uncertainty of information.…”
