A Group-Based NTRU-Like Public-Key Cryptosystem for IoT

Abstract: The Internet of things have been widely used to improve our daily life. Public-key cryptosystem plays a central role in the security of IoT. However, classic public-key cryptosystems such as RSA and ECC are not suitable for IoT because of the complicated encryption and decryption operations. NTRU is an efficient public-key cryptosystem. In this paper, we first generalize NTRU and propose a group-based NTRU-like public-key cryptosystem, namely GTRU. Then, we construct high-performance GTRU for IoT. Finally, sec… Show more

“…But, due to their complicated encryption and decryption processes, the classic public-key cryptosystems like RSA and ECC are not applicable for IoT. Shuai et al [42] introduced a group-based NTRU-like public-key cryptosystem called a group theory research unit (GTRU). To obtain high performance of encryption and decryption processes in GTRU, group G must cater to four conditions stated in [42].…”

For the NTRU, min L f , L j (with chosen p and q) determines the key security of GTRU while Lm (encrypted message) determines the message security of GTRU.…”

“…Most of the variants of NTRU are based on addition and modular multiplication operations. Shuai et al [20] proposed a NTRU-like public-key cryptographic paradigm to secure group communication. They scaled their approach to high performance Group-based nTRU (GTRU) and claimed that GTRU is more effective against lattice based attacks.…”
