A graphical user interface for an external fixation system

Abstract: Usage of Stewart Platform in orthopedics is a challenging task because there are numerous parameters, some of which are obtained from X-ray images, involved in mathematical computations for treatment process. Therefore, a computer program is required to ensure an accurate treatment and this program needs feature a graphical user interface so that the clinician can interact with the input in a convenient way and check the effects of parameter changes on the output effectively. In this work, a graphical user int… Show more

“…Consequently, a measurement error performed in the pretreatment X-ray is likely to The alignment of the bone fragments, as prescribed by the inverse analysis results, was simulated in the simulation window developed previously for this project. 24 Simulated treatments were found to be in unison with the actual fixation in all example cases (Figure 15). In this work, we have presented the final steps of a project that involves an automatic fixation system with its novel fixator configuration that we have called lambda fixator and an enhanced GUI.…”

“…Wu et al 32 developed a computational method to simulate the bone growth process that was able to keep the deviation between the actual trajectory and the ideal trajectory within 5%. Avsar et al 27,33 developed a graphical user section to reconstruct a patient-specific bone model and investigated the effect of struct length changes on fracture reduction trajectories under different constraint functions.…”

“…Data with lots of noise * The work is partially supported by the National Natural Science Zhu Wang (wangzhu@nwpu.edu.cn) is with is with the Shaanxi Key Lab of Embedded System in Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an 710129 CHN may result in inaccurate diagnosis, leading to low treatment effects, or worse consequences. However, under the condition of limited resources, e.g., computation ability, most existing systems [2,4,5,9] don't have a data preprocessing module, and the raw data is directly used for health analysis. Even through there are several systems that integrate the data preprocessing function [1,3], they usually deal with all the data with the same multi-stage amplifier circuit and filter circuit, which ignores the inherent characteristics of different physiological data.…”
