This paper concerns the revitalization of post-mining heaps using a developed software tool. Revitalizing degraded areas is crucial for sustainable development because heaps pose numerous hazards to people and the environment, and there are significant numbers of waste heaps across Europe. The applied approach enables us to consider essential factors when deciding on the heap revitalization strategy. This includes heap properties, assumed land use, and various risks to people and environment, financial, and intangible factors. The methodology addresses various revitalization aims, ranging from heap liquidation to different forms of nature restoration and industrial or energy applications. A computer-aided tool was developed based on this approach, allowing the specification of the revitalized heap and proposed revitalization alternatives. It assesses risk reduction, costs/benefits, and non-financial factors such as social, environmental, technological, and political aspects for each alternative. This provides decision-makers with input to manually select the target alternative for implementation. The revitalization planning process is supported comprehensively, and there are additional cost-, quality-, and time-related advantages due to computer aid. The authors suggest future tool enhancements, especially to extend the range of applications and better formalize the decision process.

The current situation of the energy crisis requires various industries around the world to seek technological upgrades to achieve energy conservation. The renovation of power grid lines, transformers, and substations significantly affects the comprehensive benefits of power transmission/distribution systems, and the optimization of specific parameters of these elements plays a critical role in their operational performance. In order to determine the effects of these parameters and realize their accurate optimization, herein, we establish a method combining an analytic hierarchy process and an entropy weight method to calculate the weightings of the indexes, and then evaluate the comprehensive benefits through a cloud model. Based on the evaluation system above, a case study was utilized to analyze the power transmission/distribution system of a designated area in Wuhan City, and the results showed that the comprehensive benefits increased by around 5.4% compared to 2022, and could be upgraded to level IV in the cloud model with the technical transformation. This exhibits the effectiveness and the application feasibility of this evaluation system.

As the air–rail integration continues to emerge around the globe, the successful and maintainable implementation of such schemes can be influenced by many factors within administrative, social, infrastructural, and economic aspects. With the existing airport rail link system that shifted from air–rail integration at beginning to air–rail cooperation at present, this work aims to assess the success factors of air–rail integration development in Thailand and evaluate the partnership level required to achieve a long-term and indefinite horizon of relationship based on an ongoing airport rail link project in the country. The factor assessment results from using fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) revealed different perspectives from regulators and operators, while directing the high influence of administrative, economic, and infrastructural factors. The partnership evaluation suggested the highest level of partnership; although, the operators still express doubt whether the competitive advantages incurred from the partnership and the partnership itself would be sustainable.
