A Generalized Measure of Cumulative Residual Entropy

Abstract: In this work, we introduce a generalized measure of cumulative residual entropy and study its properties. We show that several existing measures of entropy, such as cumulative residual entropy, weighted cumulative residual entropy and cumulative residual Tsallis entropy, are all special cases of this generalized cumulative residual entropy. We also propose a measure of generalized cumulative entropy, which includes cumulative entropy, weighted cumulative entropy and cumulative Tsallis entropy as special cases.… Show more

“…Xu and Huang apply the entropy weight coupling model to measure the coupling and coordinated development level of two systems [17]. Additionally, scholars combine the entropy method [18], TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method [19], and entropy weighted TOPSIS method to evaluate economic growth in China [20]. Moreover, the entropy method and an improved TOPSIS method are used to assess the sustainability of the marine economy in China's coastal areas [19].…”

“…This conclusion can also be obtained from point (i) of Theorem 1. Further connections with generalized versions of the cumulative entropy can be elaborated on relating the WMIT function to the mixture considered in Equation ( 11) of Kattumannil et al [26].…”
