Abstract:This paper investigates the working mechanism of dual-polarized tightly-coupled cross-dipoles that are widely used in cellular base station applications. The effects of couplings between sub-dipoles on the performance indexes of concern are observed. A theory of considering this type of cross-dipole as an array is proposed and validated.
