Abstract

Riser lechnoloby is a key element in~he ever increasing number of mobile floating production and subsea well inlerven;ion vessels. When there is a requirement for vertical access duwugh pressurised conduits, the relutive motion needs to be catered for by tensioning compensation systems. This paper describes u new approach in which relutive motion problems are solved in [he riser itse[fi This is achieved through application of a new design telescope that strokes without changing volume or internal pressure.
