Abstract: Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) are copper enzymes that oxidatively cleave the strong C-H bonds in recalcitrant polysaccharides, thereby playing a crucial role in biomass degradation. Recently, LPMOs have also been shown to be important for several pathogens.
