A Framework for Integrating Risk Management into the Software Development Process

Abstract: Software development projects still of high failure rates. Different risk management approaches are recommended by researchers and followed by organizations in order to control this failure rate. Current research is focused towards preventive risk management approach that improves the development process. In this study, we introduce a framework that enhances this approach. This framework describes a systematic method towards enhancing preventive risk management throughout the software development process. In t… Show more

“…These factors hinder the project from accomplishing its objectives, leading to project failure. Identifying software risk factors is a key activity, and the success of RM depends on identifying the main risks that affect the project during project development [24]. Although all the ideas or issues that arise could or could not be relevant, it is significant to document all issues (risks), possible effects, and accepted solutions [13].…”

“…Once the initial set of risk factors has been identified, they have to be managed. In this proactive framework, e-Learning practitioners proceed into the eContent development and delivery process phases, activities, risk mitigation strategies with an eye towards the identified risks and preventing them from being materialized [48].…”
