A five-pseudouridylation-associated-LncRNA classifier for primary prostate cancer prognosis prediction

Abstract: Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common cancers in males around the globe, and about one-third of patients with localized PCa will experience biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy or radiation therapy. Reportedly, a proportion of patients with BCR had a poor prognosis. Cumulative studies have shown that RNA modifications participate in the cancer-related transcriptome, but the role of pseudouridylation occurring in lncRNAs in PCa remains opaque. Methods: Spearman correlati… Show more

“…In colorectal cancer (CRC), depletion of the synthetase DKC1 leads to increased mRNA attenuation of several ribosomal proteins, which mediates tumor cell growth (Kan et al, 2021a). Similar to RNA methylation, such as 5-methylcytosine and N6methyladenosine, pseudouridine can also occur in mRNAs, rRNAs, and tRNAs; however, the difference is that the pseudouridine process is irreversible (Penzo et al, 2017;Zheng et al, 2022). Therefore, aberrant pseudouridine modi cations appear to have more serious consequences.…”
