A Fast Color Image Encryption Algorithm Using 4-Pixel Feistel Structure

Abstract: Algorithms using 4-pixel Feistel structure and chaotic systems have been shown to resolve security problems caused by large data capacity and high correlation among pixels for color image encryption. In this paper, a fast color image encryption algorithm based on the modified 4-pixel Feistel structure and multiple chaotic maps is proposed to improve the efficiency of this type of algorithm. Two methods are used. First, a simple round function based on a piecewise linear function and tent map are used to reduce… Show more

“…Furthermore, the proposal in this work has larger space key, demonstrating the capability of the proposed cryptosystem to resist against well-known attacks effectively as shown in Table 10. Another motivational and major benefit of using our cryptosystem is the ability of real implementations by an integrated circuit such as a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), especially throughput Finite Field multipliers [54]. Considering this superiority, the proposed cryptosystem can guarantee the privacy and security of patients during WCE work.…”

“…Aperi-odic orbits, generating identical statistical patterns, give dynamics of the chaotic attractor. Such designs may use substitution techniques to obscure simple signals [38]. On the other hand, diffusion is closely linked to chaotic systems sensitivity to starting conditions and parameters of regulation.…”

“…Figure 4 shows that the modified algorithm using bit permutation has reduced the encryption of the standard AES 16.88% and reduced the decryption of the standard AES by 11.96% for encrypting images. A faster encryption algorithm for images is needed to provide better security of digital images [22][23].…”
