A Fast Algorithm of the Optimal Smoothing Scheme for Transmitting Stored Video

Abstract: Minimum changes bandwidth allocation (MCBA) is an optimal video transmission scheme resulting in the minimum number of rate changes with the minimum peak rate, which can reduce renegotiation frequency in statistical multiplexing service. The existing MCBA algorithm with searching frontiers, however, has a high computational complexity, which depressed the applicability of MCBA. In this paper, we design a fast algorithm of MCBA that examines for the bounded point based on the convex envelopes of the overflow an… Show more

“…But here we will focus only on the patient' perception for QoS. As regardless of the type of media (voice or video) there are different QoS requirements from the patient' point of view that determine whether the patient will accept this service or not, such as perception about video transmission delay and listening music online [16]. For more information look at …”

“…In particular, the convex envelopes can fast check the linear separability through sequentially adding a pair of overflow and underflow points L i and U i at the same temporal point, which was proposed in our earlier paper as the envelop algorithm [23]. In this study, we use the algorithm to examine for the bounded points.…”
