Abstract:Phase locked loops for fractional frequency synthesis typically use Digital Modulators (DDSMs) as their divider controllers. Different types and configurations of DDSMs have been presented in the past which have distinctive characteristics in terms of spectral shaping of their quantization errors, spur immunity and implementation costs. This paper presents a family of DDSMs that have provably high spur immunity and low folded noise when used in fractional-N frequency synthesizers with polynomial nonlinearities. Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
