Abstract:With KI as the supporting electrolyte and a mediator, DMSO as the solvent and KHCO3 as the base, a convenient and efficient electrochemical route was developed for the synthesis of polysubstituted oxazoles from aromatic ketones and benzylamines. The electrosynthesis was smoothly carried out in an undivided cell at room temperature, affording the target products in moderate to high yields.
