Abstract: Este artigo se dedica às transformações do conhecimentoxamanístico dos Marubo (povo falante de língua Pano do Vale do Javari,AM) em sua relação com a escrita. Trata-se de enfocar a maneira como oxamanismo elabora os entrecruzamentos entre a escrita alfabética (e sua formafinal, o livro) e a noção de pessoa, caracterizada pela modificação docorpo através da inscrição de grafismos (kene).
