A dual templating route to three-dimensionally ordered mesoporous carbon nanonetworks: tuning the mesopore type for electrochemical performance optimization

Abstract: To well understand the effect of mesopore type of ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) on enhancing energy storage and conversion is still a great challenge because of the extreme difficulties in exploring new methods to create OMCs with different types of mesopores. Herein, we develop an intriguing dual-templating co-assembly/hydrothermal approach to realize nanostructure engineering in OMCs with various types of mesopores from three-dimensional (3D) cubic (OMCNWc) to 2D hexagonal mesopores (OMCNW-h) and 0D meso… Show more

“…[46][47][48] A multiple-template strategy stands out for its attractive features including the construction of specic morphology, tailoring of hierarchically porous congurations and increase in catalytic active sites. [49][50][51][52] Herein, a facile and versatile Zn/g-C 3 N 4 -mediated dualtemplate synthesis method was developed to prepare 2D single-atom-dispersed Fe/N-doped carbon nanosheet (SAs-Fe/N-CNSs) catalysts with dense Fe-N x sites and hierarchical porosity via simply pyrolyzing the D-glucosamine/FeZn/g-C 3 N 4 precursors. g-C 3 N 4 not only serves as a 2D template, but also offers coordination-N anchoring sites to strengthen the Fe atomsupport interaction and avoid the migration of Fe atoms during pyrolysis.…”

“…In the past few years, due to its potential application in portable electronic devices, research on the new flexible supercapacitors has become one of the most focuses in the field of electrical energy storage [7]. Carbon materials, conductive polymers and transition metal oxides are conventional electrode materials for supercapacitors [8][9][10][11][12][13][14]. However, the rapid development of high-performance supercapacitors limits the application of traditional materials.…”

“…Meanwhile, the evaporated procedure is limited by the ambient temperature and humidity. To obtain phenolic resol precursors, prepolymerization of phenol/resorcinol with formaldehyde for about 24 h with an acid/base solution is absolutely necessary in the preparation. The processes are also tedious, expensive, have low yields, and are unfriendly to the environment, limiting their practical applications. Therefore, development of a simple, rapid, and mild synthetic approach of ordered hierarchically porous carbon by using a soft template is urgently needed.…”
