Abstract:A comprehensive DTA study is reported of eight nitro-phenols and eight amino-phenols and of the corresponding p-phenylazobenzoylchloride, p-nitrobenzoylchloride and 3,5dinitrobenzoylchloride derivatives, prepared 'in situ' by heating intimate mixtures of phenol and acid chloride in a DTA system. The thermal analysis data and, in particular, the derivative formation temperatures, are interpreted in terms of the electronic and steric effects associated with the ring substituents of the phenol and acid chloride a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
