Hot injection thermolysis of an oxo-carboxylate complex [Fe 2 CoO(O 2 C t Bu) 6 •(HO 2 C t Bu) 3 ] has resulted in the formation of iron-rich spinel Fe 2 CoO 4 nanoparticles 18 that were shown to increase the catalytic activity of oxide material due to a larger specific surface area. 19 The major goal of our study was to design heterometallic single-source precursors that (i) contain Fe and Co in different specific ratios; (ii) have well-defined discrete molecular structures; (iii) are highly volatile; (iv) exhibit clean, lowtemperature decomposition leading to the target Fe x Co 3−x O 4 oxide materials.…”
