This paper presents concept of a database system on a computer software systems. Requirements in analysis and design are a serious problem in developing a manual system into a computer software system that is fully automated. To link the two systems (manual and automatic), a modeling language Unified Modeling Language (UML) is now accepted as the de facto standard for the design and specification of object-oriented systems. In this study, ULM modeling language used to design a management information system (MIS) of Toilet Maintenance on the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University using Access 2013. From this system, dean as admin of the system, can immediately know the damage or the need of maintenance in real time every day. Such information would greatly assist the management on making decision related to monitoring, maintenance and repair of toilet in the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University. The final results is to keep the cleanliness and reliability of toilet in the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University.

Bad smells tend to have a negative impact on software by degrading its quality. It is beneficial to detect model smells to avoid their propagation to later stages of software development. The objective of this paper is to present the state‐of‐the‐art research on techniques for detecting UML model bad smells. The detection techniques are compared and evaluated using a proposed evaluation framework. The framework consists of two parts. The first part of the framework compares the techniques in terms of the implemented approach, the investigated model, and the explored model smells, while the experimental design is explored in the second part of the framework. We found that the detection of bad smells in class and sequence diagrams is accomplished via design patterns, software metrics, and predefined rules, while model smells in use cases are detected using metrics and predefined rules. We also found that the class diagram is the most investigated UML model in the context of model smell detection, whereas there is a lack of work on other UML models. In addition, there is a scarcity of independent studies on sequence diagrams. Furthermore, the studies investigating class diagrams are mostly validated, whereas use case diagrams and sequence diagrams are rarely validated.

Database system is important to ensure the data can be stored, updated and retrieved for future use. Data modelling using the Entity Relationship Model has been introduced more than thirty years. However, designing a good database system is still an attractive issue particularly in system analysis and design because of very hard to do consistency checking between system design and database design. In this paper, a proposal for designing a relational database system based on Object Oriented Analysis and Design is presented. The database system is created by the schema table that extract from class diagram. The rules applying in this paper is following the object oriented concept. It is based on the relationships among the classes, multiplicity, attributes name, class name, data type and the behaviours of the classes. Beside that the user is required to insert record to accomplish a good designing the schema tables to avoid redundancy data. Finally, an automatic editor called CDGeST is proposed in order to automate the process.
