“…The adrenal steroids are used extensively, with notable success, to treat various types of arthritis and soft-tissue rheumatism (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7). T'rilafon is an ataractic drug, in the phenothiazine class, which has proved extremely useful in a wide range of emotional problems (8)(9)(10)(11)(12)(13)(14).…”

Fear of pain often exaggerates the functional limitation of motion far beyond that attributable to organic involvement.…”

T'rilafon is an ataractic drug, in the phenothiazine class, which has proved extremely useful in a wide range of emotional problems (8)(9)(10)(11)(12)(13)(14).Two groups of patients were selected. Group A consisted of 21 ambulatory middle-aged patients with acute and subacute disorders of the joints, chiefly of traumatic origin.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…[57] Subsequent larger studies have described the possible beneficial effect of the phenothiazine FGAs, such as trimeprazine, in pruritus as an adjunct to other primary therapies, possibly related to their tranquilizing properties. [58,59] Hyperhidrosis e effect of antipsychotics on hyperhidrosis is thought to be related to both the peripheral anticholinergic and central anxiolytic effects associated with α-adrenergic receptor blockade. ere are case reports demonstrating efficacy of thioridazine (10-25 mg) and olanzapine (10 mg) for treating hyperhidrosis in late-stage malignancies and low-dose quetiapine (12.5-25 mg) for treating axillary hyperhidrosis.…”

“…[ 3 ] They are also useful in body focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania (TTM)[ 4 ] and skin picking disorder. [ 5 ] Owing to their multi-receptor action, they are sometimes used in pruritus[ 6 7 ] and hyperhidrosis. [ 8 ] They are divided into first-generation antipsychotics (FGAs; neuroleptics, conventional, or typical anti psychotics) and second-generation anti psychotics (SGAs; atypical).…”
