A Decision Rule Aggregation Approach to Multiple Criteria-Multiple Participant Sorting

Abstract: A system that aggregates case-based linguistic decision rules using a hybrid of the dominance-based rough set approach (DRSA) and the Dempster-Shafer (DS) theory of evidence is proposed for multiple criterion-multiple participant sorting. First, DRSA is employed to infer linguistic decision rules that estimate the preferences of a few participants by means of their evaluations of representative case sets. Next, DS theory is applied to aggregate the decision rules triggered by all participants' evaluations of a… Show more

“…First, Greco et al (2006) introduced some concepts (e.g., multi-union and mega-union) related to dominance with respect to minimal profiles of evaluations provided by different DMs. Then, Chen et al (2012) proposed to aggregate the recommendations suggested by individual linguistic decision rules into an overall assignment be means of a Dempster-Shafer Theory. The crucial concepts incorporated in the DRSA sorting method proposed by Sun and Ma (2015) are a dominance relation on the set of multiple sorting decisions (each provided by an individual DM) and a multi-agent conflict analysis framework.…”

“…The final decision on a change in land use should take into account a number of social, economic and ecological factors, for the analysis of which it is necessary to apply multivariant analysis of the justifiability of the change in the area's function. The basic principles of decision theory in land use planning have been successfully used by Polish and foreign research centers, with examples found, among others, in the following recent publications: BOWMAN et al (2012);CHEN et al (2012);FAN et al (2006); KIRAN, JOSHI (2012); FRIEDMANN (2011);MINNERY et al (2012).…”

“…The conventional DRSA assumes a single decision maker while several real-world decision problems need to take into account the presence of multiple decision makers. Different group decision making extensions to DRSA have been proposed in the literature, including [1- 6,8,11,12].…”
