Cold‐based ice at the fringes of the LGM Rhine glacier ice margin has been suggested (Blatter & Haeberli, 1984; Cohen, 2017; Cohen et al, 2018; Haeberli et al, 1984; Haeberli & Penz, 1985), which could as well explain the missing drumlins (Ellwanger, 1992; Habbe, 1989, 1992; Menzies & Habbe, 1992; Menzies & Maltman, 1992).
