In Jordan the building construction industry is considered to be one of the most signifi cant industries in terms of contributing to economy, and also in terms of its impact on health and safety of the working people. Construction industry is so important for both sides the socially and economically. At the same time, the construction industry, is also known to be the most hazardous. There for it is essential to investigate and assess the factors effecting safety policy of building construction companies in Jordan, and identifying the level of attention in applying the safety related factors. This research identifi es seven of these factors that have the greatest impact to arise. Subsequently, a questionnaire survey was presented into 64 question. The questionnaire survey was distributed to 179 (1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd degree) companies which provided by Jordanian construction contractors association. Statistical analysis was carried out to 145 responding companies by employing the (SPSS) program. Data related to safety policy management were analyzed and discussed in details.

Sustainability is defined a triple bottom line approach, which concentrates on economic, social and environment growth of any organisation. In order to achieve sustainability objective, the human resource focused enablers are playing a significant role in optimising expenses, improving productivity and quality of work. Therefore, the present study seeks to build a model for the enablers of human resource development for sustainability in India power sector. The study findings help the sector to improve the productivity of their workers and establish all the enablers, which can be seen to improve quality of work life in the Indian power sector.Improved human resource capabilities and work conditions provide not only much needed motivation to power sector employees to improve their efficiency but also assist to accomplish social-ecological-economic organizational sustainability. Total Interpretive StructuralModelling with Matrice d'Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliqués à un Classement (MICMAC) analysis has been applied to build a structural model and to identify the driving force and dependence power of enablers. Validation of relationships among the enablers and managerial implications are also discussed. According to the findings, the enablers 'work safety and healthy working conditions' have the highest driving power. The outcomes of this study can help the power sector to enhance human resource capabilities and quality of work life within the organization through provision of a benchmark model and help to accomplish sustainable development initiatives in its business.

PURPOSEThis paper critically analyzes and assesses the various factors of occupational health and safety (OHS), and elucidate the factors affecting construction workers' behavior in different construction projects of Oman. It aims to create Occupational Health and Safety awareness in construction workers working for Social Entrepreneurs in Oman. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACHTwo hundred and fifty-two construction workers from various projects were selected based on a simple random sampling basis, and the data was collected through a well-defined questionnaire. FINDINGSThe study shows that workers favor communication in the improvement of workers' behavior in the industrial and infrastructure construction projects.Education and training help in capacity building and skills development and contributes towards sustainable positive OHS result in petrochemical construction projects. Management commitment plays a major part to maintain a sustained hazard free environment in building construction projects. The study also shows that the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) factors -OHS policies, health care, communication, management commitment, education and training and workers' behavior, have a direct impact on health and safety results towards social entrepreneurship of creating awareness in the construction sectors of Oman. RESEARCH LIMITATIONS/ IMPLICATIONSA model named Construction Industries Influencing Factors Framework (CIIFF) Model, has been developed with the orientation of workers' behavior which can be developed further making improvements in the existing mechanism and the factors influencing can be dealt with wider procedures to ensure improvements. SOCIAL IMPLICATIONSThe model may help in creating tools that are more effective to reduce Occupational Health and Safety related accidents and property damages in a construction project.
