A Coordinated Location-dependent Downlink Scheduling Scheme in Cellular TD-CDMA Networks with Partitioned Cells: A Two-Cell Two-Partition Case

Abstract: A downlink networkwide opportunity scheduling scheme, called coordinated location-dependent downlink scheduling scheme (CLDSS), that combines the intracell power allocation and intercell transmission coordination is proposed for cellular TD-CDMA networks. Each cell in the network is partitioned into co-centric areas based on the load distribution, and the transmission from base stations is controlled based on the intracell load as well as coordinated to minimize intercell interference. The performance in terms… Show more

“…The interference avoidance in cellular networks follows various techniques, which include radio resource management through intercell transmission coordination in terms of resource sharing [3], [4] and power control or allocation [5], [6]. Adaptive fractional frequency reuse (FFR) mechanism is used in [7] to partition resources in terms of frequency while authors in [8] and [9] propose to use time partitioning. The FFR scheme proposed in [7] allocates frequency resource based on the femtocell location and a desired spectral eff ciency.…”

“…The performance improvement technique, coordinated location-dependent downlink scheduling scheme [9] combines intra-cell power allocation and inter-cell trans mission coordination for TO-COMA network. This scheduling scheme adaptively allocates the time slots to different users based on the network load and user data rate requirements and allocate transmit power depending upon user location to reduce inter-cell interference.…”
