This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of German grammar textbook using linguistic approaches in increasing students’ academic motivation, learning outcome, and linguistic understanding. This German grammar textbook is composed for Indonesian learners. This study employed experimental approach by involving two experimental groups without control group. The total research participants were 45 Indonesian students in the second semester of the German language education department divided into two classes. There were three variables observed in this study. Students’ learning outcome was measured by a grammar test developed by the researchers, while students’ academic motivation was measured using a scale developed by Vallerand et al. (1992) consisting of 28 items that had been translated into Indonesian and tested by Natalya & Purwanto (2018). Students’ linguistic understanding was measured using the linguistic understanding scale developed by Hasmawati (2021). The treatment was conducted in six meetings in which each meeting took place for two hours using Zoom video conference platform. Data were analyzed using a descriptive statistic, a correlation test, and a paired sample t-test using the SPSS-26 application. The study found that the integration of linguistic approach, error analysis and contrastive analysis, in composing a grammar textbook of a foreign language is more likely to positively affect students’ academic motivation, learning outcome, and linguistic understanding.

Indonesia and Germany are two countries with different education systems that share the same goal of developing quality education. Cooperation between Germany and Indonesia is very important because of the potential to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive picture of education services, scholarships and cooperation between Germany and Indonesia. This research is a qualitative type which is described descriptively with a literature study approach. Literature study is used to collect and analyze various sources of information. This study uses narrative analysis techniques to analyze, understand and interpret narrative data. The results of the study reveal that Germany has a better education than Indonesia. The arrival of international students is strongly supported by Germany, as evidenced by the many scholarships awarded to various developing countries. Apart from scholarships, partner schools are also provided to prepare students and attract qualified foreign workers. This is Germany's effort to get a lot of foreign workers, considering the German population is not balanced with the number of available job vacancies. This effort aims to maintain the stability of the economic industry and also the welfare of the lives of all German people. This phenomenon illustrates that Germany gets more benefits from the practice of education services because Germany needs human resources to save their lives.

Abstract. Adpositions are an important aspect in Japanese language learning aspect which must mastered since the beginner level. However, despite its importance, many learners struggle to fully comprehend the meaning and semantics of each adposition. This study seeks to contrast of each semantic of the Japanese postpositions 'ni' and 'de' and Indonesian preposition 'di' stated in Japanese dictionary and Indonesian textbook, and suggestions for Japanese language learners from Indonesian for reducing errors in the use of Japanese postpositions 'ni' and 'de' based on I-JAS Corpus data. The descriptive method was utilized, with contrastive analysis serving as the chosen data analysis technique. The implementation procedures were as follows: (1) collecting data from books and dictionaries; (2) analysing the data so that similarities and differences between adpositions in Japanese and Indonesian can be contrasted in terms of semantics; (3) collecting data on errors in the use of Japanese postpositions from Indonesian students in I-JAS corpus data; and (4) analysing the corpus data, namely explaining the reasons and types of errors and proposing suggestions so that Indonesian learners can reduce these errors in their Japanese language learning. The findings revealed that there are 23 semantics of Japanese postposition ‘ni’ and ‘de’ and Indonesian preposition ‘di’, where the Japanese postposition ‘ni’ has 11 semantics, the Japanese postposition ‘de’ has 12 semantics, and the Indonesian preposition ‘di’ has 3 semantics which are the same as the Japanese postpositions ‘ni’ and ‘de’ and becomes the 3 points of the similarities and differences between the postpositions 'ni' and 'de' in Japanese and the preposition 'di' in Indonesian, and there are three types of errors of using Japanese postpositions 'ni' and 'de' based on I-JAS Corpus data; (a) The errors of using Japanese postposition 'ni', (b) The errors of using Japanese postposition 'de', (c) The errors of using Japanese particle or postposition which should be 'ni' or 'de'. The outcomes of this study hold potential as valuable reference material for translators and Japanese instructors involved in teaching Japanese particles or postpositions. By utilizing this resource, the distinctions among these postpositions can be explained more clearly also it offers comprehension for both translators and Japanese language learners in Indonesia.Keywords: Semantic, Contrastive, Corpus, Japanese Postpositions, Indonesian Prepositions
